We see a bright future

While continuously enhancing our value for our customers, we are also accelerating our sustainability focus by recognising environmental, social and governance (ESG) as equally important themes. By analysing our impact, we defined three main topics on which our contribution can be the most significant. We openly and transparently report on our efforts and progress.

Environmental

In the area of environment, with a transport fleet of more than 4,400 trucks and trailers which deliver around 3,050 shipments daily, our best effort is to decrease carbon emissions. To achieve that, we commit to switching to alternative fuels and to decreasing (fossil) fuel consumption.

Social

Our family company employs around 2,550 people in over 14 countries. To maximize our social value, we aim to optimise employee well-being by fostering fairness and equality and by promoting health and safety among our workforce.

Governance

Our governance policy clearly indicates our commitment to transparency and accountability. We expand this to our partner base of over 200 subcontractors. Therefore, to cultivate sustainable business we are committed to advocating ethical conduct and to auditing supplier performance.

Making a conscious impact

We want to distinguish ourselves by making accountable commitments to our environmental, social and governance practices. This is why we establish and share measurable goals and milestones to contribute to shaping a sustainable

future by 2030. We are constantly measuring our progress and our contributions to established KPIs. Periodically, we share our results to comprehensibly inform relevant stakeholders on our performance in ESG.

Vague promises will not change our planet. Only by committing to KPIs, we know the real impact. Sjoerd Ewals, Executive Director People & Organisation

A purpose bigger than ourselves

Being part of a worldwide community, we believe the only way to look at sustainability is in a global context. For that, we turn to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The Agenda was adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015. It outlines a shared vision of peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future, to be reached by 2030.

At Ewals Cargo Care, we do not stand by. We have identified a subset of them in which we see the biggest potential for contributing to their advancement across our business operations.
